About these terms
These terms apply to original paintings, limited edition prints and commissioned paintings sold by Elizabeth Fry, trading as Lizzie Artworks ("I" or "me"). By buying from me you agree to them. They are governed by the law of England & Wales.
Enquiries and purchases
This website doesn't take payment. If you're interested in an original, a commission or a Giclée print, please get in touch through the Contact page and I'll reply by email to discuss your requirements, including the final price, delivery options and any other details.
Prices shown on the site are fixed. If you'd like to buy more than one piece, a discount may be available, so please ask when you enquire.
An artwork is reserved once payment has been agreed and received. If two people enquire about the same original around the same time, it is first come, first served.
Payment
Payment is by bank transfer, or by card machine when you pay in person. You can pay in advance or when you collect. Once payment has been received, your artwork will be carefully packaged and arranged for delivery.
Original paintings
Each original is one of a kind. Originals are sold mounted, not framed. A framing service is available for collection only. Colours on screen may vary slightly from the real painting.
Limited edition prints
Prints are Giclée limited edition prints on Museum Heritage 310gsm fine-art paper: a heavy, textured, archival-grade, acid-free paper that won't yellow or degrade. Each painting is limited to an edition of 100 prints in total, across all sizes.
Prints are made to order, always come mounted, and usually arrive within 4 weeks. Print prices are fixed.
Commissions
Commissions are painted to your brief, and pricing is discussed with you individually.
- A deposit of 50% is required. It is refundable until your commission has been personalised.
- You will see a draft of the working drawing and we'll discuss colours and details. The draft can be changed twice. Once the paint element is applied, no further changes can be made, particularly where the piece is personalised (for example, racing numbers on sails).
- The balance is due before delivery.
- Once you have approved the draft, a finished commission cannot be refunded.
Delivery and collection
I deliver within the UK only, excluding the Channel Islands, and delivery is included in the price. Collection can also be arranged.
Please open your parcel when it arrives. If anything is damaged, take photos of the damage and the packaging and get in touch straight away.
Cancellations and returns
If you buy an original or a print remotely (by email, through the website or otherwise without meeting in person), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. Tell me through the Contact page or by email within that time, then return the item, well packed and in the condition you received it, within 14 days of telling me. You pay the cost of returning it. I'll refund you within 14 days of receiving it back.
If an item arrives damaged, tell me straight away with photo evidence and I'll arrange a refund.
This right to cancel does not apply to commissions once they've been personalised to your requirements. See Commissions above for how deposits and refunds work.
Copyright
When you buy a painting or a print, you own the physical piece. I keep the copyright in every image, so you may not reproduce, copy or sell copies of it, including images from this website, without my written permission.
